A mummy rises from the grave! Doesn’t sound too scary, does it? In fact, that’s the very premise upon which Burying the Ex was built. More accurately, it was built on the premise of a documentary about a small-time coroner named Ben (Michael J.

The opening scene is a zombie attack, with a roving band of razor-clawing corpses mowing down humans with ease. But this is only the beginning of the real horror show, as strange creatures are soon interfering with other people’s lives in an even more sinister way. Cemeteries are the next stop for the living dead,

Declaring objects on the heap or stack

When creating and managing an object, does it matter how you allocate the object?
For example
class MyClass{
int m_iField;
void *m_pObject;
}

What is preferable for creating and managing an object?

A:

When creating and managing an object, does it matter how you allocate the object?

Yes it does.
Why? It’s an abstraction issue: for an allocation to occur you have to provide memory for it; the type of memory and how much is decided at run time based on how you use the allocated object.
So if you create a class object on the stack with class fields, you’d need to reserve space on the stack for the object plus the class data (the number of class fields etc) plus a further pointer to the start of the object (for the run-time type information).
If you create a class object on the heap, you’d need to allocate enough memory for the object plus class data plus a further pointer to the start of the object.
It’s kind of the same, although it’s important to understand that they are not the same: the amount of space that you need to allocate isn’t the same as how much data you need to store. In the first case, you’d allocate memory for the object plus a pointer to the start of the object; in the second case, you’d allocate memory for the object plus the number of class fields times size of a class field plus a pointer to the start of the object (and the class data).
The style you choose to use is a personal choice. I tend to prefer to create objects on the heap in situations where I need complete control over where and how big the object is. If I have control over the memory for
